Sad NEWS!!!  As reported by JDJ Entertainment, Janet's publicist announced
that Janet and Rene, after a 13 years, have split up.  They did announce 
that they plan to remain friends.

Tonight is the last time to catch the 'Velvet Rope Tour' on HBO, before
it is released March 9th on Video and DVD.

'Poetic Justice' is released to DVD, March 16th.

'Whats it gonna be' will deput on MTV, BET on March 2nd.

'Boyfriend/Girlfriend' is already on Radio, early reports show
strong syndication.

The 'What's it gonna be' video with Busta Rhymes and Janet will deput this
week on MTV in Europe.

All three versions of Janet's Pepsi commercial are also making its deput around
the globe.

Pepsi has confirmed that one of the commercials will be broadcasted in the United
States, however it has not yet been determined what version of the commercial will
be broadcasted in the United States.

Several Contests around the Globe are scheduled to start in the coming weeks, all of
which will be sponsered by no other than Pepsi.  These contests to promote the new
Janet and Pepsi commercials and its new slogan 'Ask for me'.

In coming weeks, a CD/CD-ROM will become available through Pepsi Company, not through
retail which will feature the track recorded by Janet, 'Ask for me', interview footage,
screen-savers, etc.  Watch for details.

'The Velvet Rope' was officially certified Tripple Platinum (Sales of 3 million units) 
in the United States, on January 15, 1999.  World-Wide Sales have now officially surpassed
8 million units.  RIAA and Virgin announced that more than 4 million units have been \
shipped in the United States and that the total sales figures for the album will be 
officially announced, once all markets report all sales and certifications are made.

'What's it gonna be', deputed last week on R&B Airplay, the single is moving up with a 
bullet on the Airplay Chart and Singles Chart.

Due to the many emails I have received, I have decided to update my site
and I decided to continue to re-design this web site, until my friend Carmen
takes over this web page.

In recent news, sorry for the delay, Janet recently won for Best R&B Female
Artist at the American Music Awards.  This marks her ninth AMA award.

Janet has recently finished two music videos, the first with Buster Rhyme for
the upcoming single and video 'What's it gonna be' and the upcoming
video/single with Blackstreet 'Boyfriend/Girlfriend'.  This album is scheduled 
to be released in February.  The single is scheduled to be released in 
February as well.

The Elton John and Janet duet, is scheduled to be released as the second
single/video from the fourthcoming soundtrack album release from Elton John.
Other artists featured on this Soundtrack in collaboration with Elton John are
Leann Rimes, Usher, as well as many others.  The Elton John and Leann Rimes
duet is scheduled to be released next month.

Rumors that Lauryn Hill and Janet have shown interest in working together in the
near future.  Recently during an interview Janet also said that she would like
to work with Boyz II Men and Mariah Carey.

Other projects are already in the works for Janet, Janet just recently signed on
with a Movie Rights/Representation Company to represent her in Films.

Other projects rumored to happen are duets with Aaliyah, Chico, and a possible
collaboration with producer Teddy Riley on Janet's next studio album.

'The Velvet Rope World Tour 1998/1999' will be released on Video in the United
States and Canada, March 9th.  A possible video collection has been set to be
released in the Summer of 1999.

Janet is currently finishing her World Tour in Japan, Highly successful World Tour
having grossed more than 80 million dollars plus.

The commercial will be released sometime next week in all countries but Europe.
There are three featured commercials, one with Ricki Martin which was filmed
in Australia.  Ricki after negotians with Pepsi, seduces Janet, not the other
way around which was the original plan.  Another commercial will feature Janet by
herself on a Beach sponsering Pepsi.  The third and final Pepsi commercial was filmed 
in Japan with a Japanese Entertainer.  These commercials will not be shown in the
United States.  The reason is unknown.

'The Velvet Rope' was officially certified 3xplatinum by RIAA and Billboard Magazine.
However Virgin Records recently stated that the album has passed 4 million mark, but
due to many projects and the Certification process the album has not been
certified yet.

The tripple platinum certification in the United States takes the album 'The Velvet 
Rope' to World-Wide Sales, officially to 9 million Sales.  However the accurate
figure is not yet reported.

'The Velvet Rope' was the #27th Biggest Album on Top 200 Album Chart of 1998.  It was
the 17th biggest album on Top 100 R&B Chart.  

'Together Again' was the 6th biggest Song of 1998.

I cannot believe this.  I am shocked.  Janet just won an Billboard Award 
for Best R&B Female Artist of 1998.  Congratulations Janet.

Also Janet is nominated for Vh-1 Artist of the Year.  Janet was Vh-1'a 
Artist of the Month, back in January of 1998.  You can vote NOW, by
calling 1-888-Vote-Vh1.  Please vote, Janet does deserve the title for
Aritst of the Year.  If she does win, there will be a Janet special all 
month long, during January 1999.

Janet won the award for Best International Female Artist at the 1998 Channel
V Awards, in Asia.  It is equal to the MTV European Award Show.

'Every Time' still has not been released to Mainstream Radio.  The reason
for this is un-known.  No future singles are scheduled, according to Virgin
recrods, via  MTV.  However, it is rumored that 'What About' and 'Velvet 
Rope' may still be scheduled for release.  Videos are also scheduled to be
made for these tracks, however these are only rumors, lets hope that they
are true.

'The Velvet Rope' fell out of the Top 100 in the Billboard Charts this week, 
from #99 to #115.  Sad news, hopefully, it'll make its way back up the
charts.

However, in better chart news, 'The Velvet Rope' is moving back up the charts
in New Zealand, Australia and Japan.  Thanks to the highly publized 'The Velvet
Rope World Tour 1998/1999'.

Movie projects may already be scheduled for Janet to work on, as soon as she
gets off the tour, it was said by a German Magazine that Janet has found a
script and is looking forward to start working on it.  This is not confirmed
by anyone of Janet's staff.

I apologize for not regularly updating My Web Page 'Every Time w/ Janet'
I get very busy with school, work, research, teaching and volunteering.
I do apologize once again, and promise to update my site more often.

Busta Rhymes album is postponed to be released, December 15th.  I just heard
the track 'What it's gonna be' the duet with Busta Rhymes and Janet.  It
is da bomb.  Very different from Janet's previous work.

'Every Time' is released in the UK, December 8th.  The single is now released
everywhere else in Europe.

Janet had phenomenon success in Africa with her tour, with the three dates
Janet performed, she performed to over 100,000 people.

This past week, 'The Velvet Rope World Tour 1998/1999' the U.S. leg of the
tour grossed past the $30 million mark.  It is only the seventh tour this
year to have passed the 30 million dollar figure.  Not bad, for a tour that
MTV called a Flop.

The day after tomorrow, Janet will be starting her World Tour in Australia,
it will be the 104th show she will have performed sofar.  Her Tour Management
reported, Janet performed 40 shows in Europe, all of which Sold Out, 60 shows
in the United States, the tour worldwide has grossed over $55 million dollars
and is said to gross approximately $70 million plus, by the end of the tour.
The tour has already been seen by over 1.2 million people.

The 'Velvet Rope' Concert Video has already been released in Australia and will
be released in Japan, December 16th.

Also 'God's Stepchild' will be featured on the December 8th, 'Delta' Soundtrack
which featured the directorial deput by Maya Angelou.  She personally handpicked
the Janet song.

The Elton and Janet duet will be released during the first month of 1999.

NEWS!!! ( AUGUST - NOVEMBER ):
